Pittsboro Baptist Preschool began in September of 2001 as a Mothers Morning Out program with 17 children and now has grown to serve more than 130 children. We seek to support the home and extend the ministry of the church by providing biblically based, age-appropriate education for preschoolers that addresses their development cognitively, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Pittsboro Baptist Preschool prepares children for future learning and success. Our Christian based curriculum is used to guide children through their daily activities.

Jennifer Cashion
Preschool Minister

Jennifer@pittsborobaptistpreschool.org

Hello!  I am blessed to be the Preschool Director of an amazing preschool.  Prior to coming to Pittsboro Baptist Preschool, I worked in clinical research for 13 years.  Although I enjoyed what I did, I have an unexplainable peace with the direction my life took and I’m thankful for the doors the Lord opened for me at the preschool and Pittsboro Baptist Church as the Children’s Minister.  My husband, Matt, and I love living in Pittsboro and have 3 amazing children.   Matthew 19:14 says:  Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”   I love being part of a ministry at PBP that shares the love of Christ with every child and family that walks through the door.  For me it’s more than a job.  It’s a privilege the Lord has put me in this place at this time.

Hi, I am the Assistant Director here at Pittsboro Baptist Preschool. I grew up in New York. I live here with my husband Alex and we have three grown children. I have been doing accounting work for many years. I attended Green Mountain College in Vermont. I feel blessed to be able to mentor your children and work with these wonderful teachers.

Brittany Sellers
Assistant Teacher in the Ladybugs

Kate Chambers
Assistant Teacher in the Koalas

My name is Kate Chambers and I grew up here in Pittsboro, North Carolina. I attended Western Carolina University where I met my husband David, who then joined the United States Navy. For the last ten years we moved (a lot) and had two beautiful kids. Becoming a stay-at-home mom taught me the value of watching children grow and learn through love and kindness. We are excited to be back in Chatham to raise our kids in this wonderful community.

Joyce Crabtree

Lead Teacher in the Ladybugs

Hello, I have worked at PBP since 2011 and love being able to contribute to an enthusiastic team of teachers. My children attended PBP, so I have been a part of the PBP family as a parent and a teacher. As a mother of four, I am challenged daily to guide and educate different personalities and look forward to doing the same with your children.

Cynthia Dekaney

Lead Teacher in the Penguins

I consider it a great privilege to spend mornings with my preschool class and have been doing so since 2010.  Three of my 5 kids went to school here and, although my youngest is now in High school, I decided I like it too much to leave.  My husband Chris and I moved our family to North Carolina from Texas in 2007.  We miss the Lone Star State and our family there (and TexMex and beef BBQ), but we feel blessed to be raising our family in Chatham County and love what the Lord has done for us here.

Noelle Deichler

Greetings! My name is Noelle Deichler and I am thrilled to be leading the 1’s class at PBP for the 2025-2026 School year! After three years of assisting with preschool, kindergarten, and elementary age children at Haw River Christian Academy, I look forward to watching your children grow this year at PBP.

Denise Malatestinic

Lead Teacher in the Turtles

My name is Denise Malatestinic and I am so excited for another year at Pittsboro Baptist Preschool.  I just recently moved to Chatham County from Long Island, New York where I subbed as a Teaching Assistant for the last 13 years.  My favorite place to sub was in the Pre K classes where I loved watching those little faces learn.   I am a mom of 4 children who are all young adults living their lives.  I look forward to a great year here at PBP.

Tricia Hathcock

Lead Teacher in the Bears

Natalie Simpson

Assistant Teacher in the Bumblebees – (T/Th)

I joined the Pittsboro Baptist Preschool family after working in the marketing and communications field for nearly 20 years. I am a Chatham County native, growing up just down the road in Siler City, and my husband and I moved back to the Pittsboro area nearly 10 years ago to raise our family. We have three children – two sons and a daughter. We spend much of our time at sporting events for our boys (mostly baseball!) and try to squeeze in trips to the lake and beach when we can, because the water is our happy place! I am very excited and thankful for the path God has led me down to work at PBP. This preschool and it’s amazing teachers have been a blessing to my daughter and family, and I hope to be the same for the children I have the opportunity to work with this year!
